Anthony

(I never knew you
Like I know I should have
Now I watch you
Your eyes fixed, blank
Laughter fled and tears forgotten
Clutching chill and tender fist
Though life has long slipped through its grip)

Saying goodbye
Is like letting go
And it's hard
But He's holding my hand
Just like He held yours
And carried you through the flood.

I don't like the first verse (hence it is in brackets), but I feel the poem needs more than the last verse.

Hmm.

Maybe I'll rewrite it later
