Would that I had your
Sterile outlook.
To cleanse away frustration
At long hours
Whittling providence
Away, until the fence
Provides a path for my feet.
And a horison to greet.

Sometimes
The screen flickers
And I wonder
What fragile reminders
Of the thoughts of the past
Skittering across its
Snow-blind face
Shall I revisit today?

Jesus had to die.
The disciples wondered why
He told them many times
But they were thick
And it didn't stick
So they ran for their lives.
We cooled our feet
In the stream of silence
And left violence
In our rippling wake.

We fell asleep
In a field of sunshine
We knew that sometime
We must awake.

For they that dream
In the midday heat
Will trail dusty feet
Down to the lake

And there we play
Until evening
Which sees us returning
On our way.
Haven't posted in far too long, but I haven't been completely idle.

An Easter Song.

Where were you when they crucified my Lord?
Where were you when they crucified my Lord?
Were you washing at the stream?
Only He can leave you clean.
So where were you when they crucified my Lord?

Where were you when they hung Him on the cross?
Where were you when they hung Him on the cross?
Weere you searching for your way?
Only He can make it plain.
So where were toy when they hung Him on the cross?

Where were you when they villified His name?
Where were you when they villified His name?
The sun was turned away
And the sky wept with shame.
So where were you when they villified His name?

Where were you when we crucified my Lord?
Oh where were you when we crucified my Lord?
Were you standing in the crowd
When we hurled the insults out?
So where were you when we crucified my Lord?

An Evening Stroll.

The wandering highlights of your hair
Caress the city air,
Distilling breath to laughter.
As we douse the fires of the ratrace
With the flowing country landscape
And no thought spared to after.

The cobbles wend a crooked path
Until atlast
The looming light canopy parts
To soothe our souls
We watch unfold
The stellar spiral dance.

The glimmering highlights of your hair
Caress the fragrant air
Distilling breath to laughter
Tonight indeed
Are spirits freed
With no thoughts spared to after.
