The Trek.

Into the falling snow
Did the wild men go
Their spirits welded
To the metal picks they wielded
Through the frozen domains
And faeri lit expanse
They etched their stubborn way
Through the heart of winter

Till their harness jingling
And their rasped pluming
Was gently subsumed
By the falling snow.
