A work HalfDone

There were times when I'd find myself waking
To shadows of morning light
and the birds overhead kept on calling,
Haunting me all through the night
Then I found you and everything unwound

chimney smoke
and you spoke
driving away hunger
like the breath of life
whispering in my ears
tingles down my spine
